Cookie Decorating Party

On December 21st we got the kids of Woodleaf together and had a decorating party for them. 

MJ made 2 cookies with a ton of icing and sprinkles just like he likes them. 

We had breakfast for dinner and enjoyed some time together. 

MJ made a green star.

Let It Snow

This past weekend we had a little bit of snow... but we got out and played in it anyway! 

MJ was making snow balls and throwing them... we all got in on the fun. 

There wasn't a lot of snow on the ground so we used the snow on the cars to make snow balls. 

This is the road that leads to our house... it is beautiful.

Well it is snowing as I write this post and we already have more snow than we did when I took these pictures.

Gingerbread House

When Micah and I were dating we put together a ginger bread house with some of our friends... it was probably the most creative house we have made... I remember we used pretzels to make a balcony and 10 years later we still make a ginger bread house every year.

Our boys now get really excited about making them and we had a good time... I just always forget how patient you have to be while you put the house together and wait for the icing to dry.

I had never used fondant before, it was fun to make things with but it didn't taste very good. 

Sadly to say the house has already been demolished... the pieces now reside in a ziploc bag and MJ enjoys any time he gets to eat it.

Ornaments

A couple of weeks ago our friend Karen came over and made ornaments with us. We made cinnamon ornaments and a salt dough ornament. We had a lot of fun using all of our cookie cutters for our ornaments.

A few days after they were baked and dried we painted some of the ornaments after dinner.

MJ loved painting the ornaments, Micah and I had fun too! Grant used water color and that didn't go so well but he still had fun painting with us.
